The first Capesize for loading entered the port of Pivdennyi via a temporary corridor
On Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, six vessels sailed through the temporary corridor to the ports of Greater Odesa, including the first capesize bulk carrier to enter Pivdennyi port since the start of the full-scale Russian military invasion.
On October 14, three bulk carriers arrived via the sea corridor – Kmax Emperor, Gloria G and Jolanda (all flying the flag of Liberia), and on October 15, bulk carriers Manassa Queen (flag of Panama), Kyalami (flag of Liberia) and product tanker Mavka (flag of Panama) arrived.
Deadweight of the vessels:
- Kmax Emperor – 91.8 thousand tons;
- Gloria G – 74.5 thousand tons;
- Jolanda – 180.6 thousand tons;
- Manassa Queen – 23.5 thousand tons;
- Kyalami – 28.2 thousand tons;
- Mavka – 13.6 thousand tons.
Thus, as of October 15, a total of 32 vessels with a total deadweight of 1.376 million tons sailed through the temporary sea corridor to the ports of Greater Odesa, of which 16 left loaded and successfully made their way back.
In early August 2023, the Ukrainian Navy announced new temporary routes for civilian vessels to and from the Black Sea ports of Ukraine.
This route was initially used by five vessels that were blocked in Ukrainian seaports after the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
