Thailand will produce 8.5 mln tons of sugar in 2023/24 MY
In 2023/24 MY, Thailand is expected to produce 8-8.5 million tons of sugar, which is about 25% less than in the previous year.
It is reported by Reuters.
The decline in production is due to the impact of the El Niño weather phenomenon, said the head of the Sugar and Cane Production Authority, Virit Wiseshsint.
According to the sugar department, in 2023 Thailand exported 7.64 million tons of sugar out of 11.05 million tons produced in total.
