Taiwan purchased 65 thsd tons of feed corn
On April 29, Taiwan-based MFIG purchased 65,000 tonnes of feed corn from CJ International at a tender, Reuters reported. Traders believe the corn will be sourced from the United States.
The purchase price is equal to the September CBOT corn contract plus a premium of 218.43 cents per bushel on a C&F basis.
According to traders, only corn from the United States and Argentina was offered at the tender. MFIG requested price offers for corn from Brazil and South Africa, but none were received.
Eight companies bid eight lots of 65,000 tonnes of U.S. corn. The premium on the September CBOT contract ranged from 222.49 to 233.44 cents per bushel. The premium for Argentine corn was 236.81 cents per bushel.
According to the tender terms, shipments from ports on the northwest coast of the United States or from South Africa will take place from July 17 to August 5, 2026, and from the Gulf of Mexico or Argentina from July 2 to 21.
