Taiwan purchased 65 thsd tons of feed corn
On November 13, Taiwan’s MFIG Group purchased 65,000 tonnes of feed corn at a tender, Reuters reported. Traders believe the corn will be sourced from the United States.
Bunge won the tender. The purchase price was equal to the May CBOT corn contract plus a premium of 177.28 cents per bushel on a C&F basis.
According to traders, U.S. corn dominated the tender. A total of eight companies bid 65,000 tonnes of U.S. corn each.
Amaggi made the only offer for non-U.S. corn – a shipment of Brazilian corn at the May contract price plus a premium of 217 cents per bushel.
Under the tender terms, shipments from ports on the northwest coast of the United States will take place between January 30 and February 18, 2026.
Traders said that due to concerns about poor quality, Argentine corn would only be accepted for delivery at the lowest price – at least 4 cents a bushel below the cheapest offer from other countries.
