Sunseed production in Ukraine reached 12.8 mln tons in 2023

In 2023, Ukraine harvested 12.8 mln tons of sunflower seeds (weight after processing). The planted area under the crop was 5.2 mln ha.

This is according to the State Statistics Service.

For comparison, in 2022, 5.3 mln ha were allocated for sunflower, and the production volume amounted to 11.3 mln tons.

In 2023, the sunflower yield reached 24.5 centners per hectare compared to 21.6 centners per hectare a year earlier.
