Sunflower bloomed abnormally early in southern Ukraine
This year, in the South, in particular, sunflower has bloomed abnormally early at PAEK. Therefore, the harvesting of this crop may start on August 10-15, which is two weeks earlier than usual, provided there is rainfall in July.
Yuriy Kormyshkin, owner of PAEK, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
“This year is an abnormal one for the southern farmers. In addition to the fact that the harvest started in the first decade of June, sunflowers bloomed in the third decade. This suggests that sunflower harvesting will start on August 10-15 (subject to precipitation in July), which is two weeks earlier than usual. Nature is surprising, the climate is changing very fast,” – said Yuriy Kormyshkin.
As a reminder, rapeseed flowering in the south also started a month earlier this year.
