Spring wheat harvest nears completion in the US

American farmers have 6% of their spring wheat acreage left to thresh, the Zerno On-line agency reported, citing the National Agricultural Statistical Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (NASS). The pace of harvesting the new crop is ahead of last year and the five-year average.
Winter wheat sowing, on the contrary, is lagging behind last year. By September 14, 11% of the planned area had been sown with winter wheat (13% on the same date last year).
Corn harvesting has been completed on 7% (8%) of the area, and soybeans – on 9% (10%).
