Spring wheat conditions in the US have improved significantly
Last week, spring wheat crop conditions in the US improved significantly, but winter wheat conditions deteriorated slightly again.
According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), the share of spring wheat crops in excellent and good condition increased from 47% to 52%. A year ago, this figure was 53%.
The share of winter wheat crops in excellent and good condition decreased from 26% to 25%, significantly lower than the 54% a year ago.
Winter wheat harvest was completed on 11% of the acreage by June 7 (4% on the same date last year and 6% on average over the past five years).
