Spring crops are already being sown in 19 regions of Ukraine
As of March 20, 2025, farmers in 19 regions of Ukraine have sown 250.4 thsd ha of spring grain and leguminous crops.
Currently, the largest area of crops is barley — 133.5 thsd ha. Spring wheat has already been sown on 36.7 thsd ha, peas — 57 thsd ha, oats — 16.9 thsd ha.
Leading regions in terms of sowing rates:
Mykolaiv region: 43 thsd ha (wheat — 1.5 thsd ha, barley — 22.5 thsd ha, peas — 18.7 thsd ha, oats — 0.3 thsd ha).
- Ternopil region: 31.3 thsd ha (wheat – 6.4 thsd ha, barley – 21.3 thsd ha, peas – 2.1 thsd ha, oats – 1.5 thsd ha).
- Kirovohrad region: 25.9 thsd ha (wheat – 0.9 thsd ha, barley – 14.5 thsd ha, peas – 10.5 thsd ha).
- Vinnytsia region: 24.1 thsd ha (wheat – 5.6 thsd ha, barley – 12.3 thsd ha, peas – 5.3 thsd ha, oats – 0.9 thsd ha).
- Rivne region: 15.2 thsd ha (wheat – 0.5 thsd ha, barley – 10.7 thsd ha, peas – 0.7 thsd ha, oats – 3.3 thsd ha).
Let us remind you that in total in 2025 it is planned to sow more than 5.7 mln ha of spring grain and leguminous crops, which corresponds to the level of 2024. The main feature of the new season will be an increase in the area under spring wheat by 28%, to 222.8 thsd ha. Such changes in the structure of crops correspond to stable demand for wheat from processing enterprises and exporters.
