Spot Price for Corn in Mato Grosso up 6% Last Week

The spot price for corn in Mato Grosso increased 6% last week, closing last Friday at R$ 64.80 per sack (approximately $5.10 per bushel) according to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea).
Planting of the safrinha corn in Mato Grosso hit 85% late last week, which represents a gain of 17.8% from the prior week.
The spot price for soybeans in Mato Grosso remained unchanged last week, closing last Friday at R$ 106.22 per sack (approximately $8.35 per bushel) according to Imea.
Soybean harvest in Mato Grosso hit 82% late last week which represents a gain of 16% for the week.
