December corn is down 1½¢ this morning.
November soybeans are up 2¾¢.
September wheat contracts are in the green. CBOT wheat is up 2¼¢. KC wheat is up 1¾¢. Minneapolis wheat is up 3½¢.
This morning USDA released the weekly Export Sales report for the week of Aug. 2 – Aug. 8.
“Weekly export sales this morning were not too shabby,” says Naomi Blohm, senior market adviser with Total Farm Marketing. “Soybean export sales for the week ending Aug. 8 came in higher than pre-report estimates at 1.57 million metric tons across the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 marketing years. Of that, 1.34 million metric tons were sold for 2024/2025.
“Weekly export sales for corn came in within expectations at 921,000 metric tons across both marketing years, while wheat sales were at 333,100 metric tons for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 marketing years — with sales net negative 66,800 metric tons for 2025/2026.”
October live cattle are up 8¢. September feeder cattle are up 85¢. October lean hogs are down $1.08.
September crude oil is up $1.23.
The U.S. Dollar Index September contract is up to 102.92.
September S&P 500 futures are up 53 points. September Dow futures are up 455 points.
