Soybean harvest in Ukraine exceeded last year’s record

Ukrainian farmers harvested 6 mln tons of soybeans from 99% of the area with an average yield of 2.3 t/ha, which is 1.2 mln tons more than last year’s record high of 4.778 mln tons. At the same time, the soybean yield is 0.29 t/ha lower than last year (2.59 t/ha).
This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and the State Statistics Service.
In terms of gross harvest, soybeans are in the lead:
Khmelnytsky region – 828.3 thsd tons (from 100% of the area);
Zhytomyr region – 540.7 thsd tons (from 100% of the area);
Lviv region – 500.2 thsd tons (from 100% of the area).
At the same time, soybean yields exceeded 30 centners per hectare in only five regions:
- Ivano-Frankivsk region – 3.25 t/ha;
- Lviv region – 3.14 t/ha;
- Ternopil region – 3.08 t/ha;
- Volyn region – 3.05 t/ha;
- Rivne region – 3.01 t/ha.
This year’s soybean harvest was significantly affected by prolonged drought and abnormally high temperatures that affected almost all regions of Ukraine.
