Sowing campaign launched in all regions of Ukraine, except Luhansk Region – Shmyhal
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a briefing, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“In all regions, except Luhansk Region, the sowing campaign has been launched. We are helping farmers. They were provided with UAH 3.5 billion worth of concessional financing. At today’s meeting, the Ukrainian government has endorsed a decision to facilitate agricultural machinery registration procedures as much as possible. We are doing this to keep the sowing campaign and field works uninterrupted everywhere,” Shmyhal told.
A reminder that, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, under the pessimistic scenario, 70% of planted areas can be sown in Ukraine in 2022. If mine clearing operations are completed in Chernihiv Region and Sumy Region in the coming weeks, the area of planted crops may increase to 80%.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.
