South Korea has stepped up soybean imports by securing a sizable volume of U.S. supply. The state-run Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation purchased 125,000 tons of non-GMO soybeans of U.S. origin following a recent tender.
The bulk of the volume — 100 thsd tons — will be delivered in containers across several shipments, with prices ranging roughly between $236 and $258 per ton on a C&F basis. An additional 25,000 tons were bought with the option for bulk shipment, highlighting the importer’s flexible logistics strategy.
Deliveries are scheduled over an extended period, from April 2026 through April 2027, ensuring steady supply to the domestic market. The deal underscores South Korea’s continued reliance on U.S. soybeans and its efforts to diversify procurement and delivery formats.
