Сondition of corn crops in France has worsened again due to abnormal weather.
Last week, the condition of grain crops in France deteriorated again due to abnormal heat and drought, according to the Zerno On-Line news agency, citing the state agency FranceAgriMer.
By July 6, the share of winter soft wheat crops in good and excellent condition had fallen to 65% (68% the week before and 68% on the same date last year), spring barley to 55% (60% and 68%), and corn to 47% (57% and 75%).
Grain harvesting rates in France are currently significantly higher than the average and last year’s levels. By July 6, 59% of the area under winter soft wheat had been threshed (32% on the same date on average over the past five years), 92% (41%) under winter hard wheat, 97% (66%) under winter barley, and 46% (15%) under spring barley.
