Сondition of corn and soybeans in the US has worsened
Last week, corn and soybean crop conditions in the US deteriorated slightly, but spring wheat conditions improved significantly, according to the Zerno On-line agency.
According to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS), as of June 28, the share of corn in excellent and good condition decreased from 68% to 67%, while soybean conditions decreased from 66% to 65%. A year ago, 73% of corn and 66% of soybeans were in excellent and good condition.
The share of spring wheat in excellent and good condition increased from 54% to 59%, up from 53% a year ago.
Winter wheat harvesting slowed slightly last week. By June 28, threshing was complete on 48% of the acreage (34% on the same date last year and 39% on average over the past five years).
