The seed market in Ukraine is emerging as a high-margin but structurally vulnerable segment. According to UkrAgroConsult, the sector has reduced import dependence while increasing exports to the EU.

Certified seed production expanded from about 75 K mt to 500 K mt over five years, reflecting rapid localization and industry development.

Around 25% of seeds remain counterfeit or of unknown origin, creating systemic risks for productivity and transparency.
