Seaports have handled 16 mln tons of grain since the beginning of the year
In April 2026, Ukrainian seaports handled 8.2 million tons of cargo, which is 35.8% more than in the same period last year.
According to the Ukrainian Seaports Administration (USPA), the growth occurred despite a significant increase in attacks on port infrastructure.
“The intensity of drone attacks is increasing: in April alone, more than 500 UAVs were recorded on logistics infrastructure. In fact, ports were attacked every other day. Despite security risks and regular shelling, port workers ensured the continuity of the industry and the fulfillment of foreign trade contracts,” the agency noted.
And they added that in January-April 2026, Ukrainian seaports handled 29.5 million tons of cargo, which exceeds the figure for the same period in 2025.
“The basis of cargo traffic was traditionally formed by grain – 16 million tons, which is 7% more than last year,” the USPA specified.
