The Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC), owned by the Public Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has become a shareholder in MHP.
This is stated in the announcement on the London Stock Exchange.
As noted, SALIC has acquired more than 13.5 million shares of MHP SE and now owns 12.6% of the company’s shares.
Update: added MHP’s comment
MHP has received information about the acquisition by SALIC, the Saudi Agriculture and Livestock Investment Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, of 13,514,563 GDRs of MHP SE, which were previously in free float on the London Stock Exchange. SALIC now holds 12.6% of the company’s total outstanding shares.
This acquisition underscores SALIC’s confidence in MHP as a stable and growing company that can make a significant contribution to Saudi Arabia’s food security. MHP has always considered supporting food security to be one of its key goals in Ukraine and globally.
The acquisition of MHP SE GDRs by SALIC will not affect MHP’s operations in Ukraine and abroad, as well as the shareholding of Yuriy Kosyuk, who remains the largest shareholder in the company, maintaining his strategic influence on MHP’s development.
MHP will continue its investment activities, supporting the country’s economy, creating new jobs, and providing assistance to the Ukrainian army, communities and the company’s team. The company is one of the largest investors in the country according to Forbes and NV, and has invested UAH 14.8 billion in business development in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion.
For reference, MHP is a leading chicken producer in Ukraine with the largest market share. MHP owns and controls all stages of chicken production: from growing grains and oilseeds, producing feed to hatching eggs and raising broiler stock, processing, marketing, distribution and sale of poultry meat (including through partner branded outlets). The agricultural holding also holds a leading position in crop production.
