Saudi Arabia’s National Grain Supply Company (SABIL), in cooperation with NEOM, has successfully received its first wheat vessel at the new Red Sea logistics hub. The shipment delivered 66 thsd tons of wheat, marking an important milestone in the country’s grain logistics development.

According to the company, using NEOM Port is part of its strategy to diversify logistics gateways and improve supply chain efficiency. The new route is expected to accelerate grain deliveries to northern regions of Saudi Arabia, including Tabuk, Al Jouf, Hail, and Al Qassim.

SABIL said the new logistics hub will enhance the flexibility of the country’s grain infrastructure, improve distribution across regions, and strengthen supply chain resilience. This is particularly important amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and disruptions to global trade.

SABIL is a subsidiary of SALIC Group, which manages Saudi Arabia’s grain terminals and strategic grain reserves. The company is responsible for operating grain storage facilities and developing the country’s grain supply system.

Located on the Red Sea, NEOM Port is being developed as an international logistics hub with direct connections linking Asia, Europe, and Africa. Saudi Arabia expects the port to become one of the country’s key gateways for grain imports and other strategic cargo.
