Saudi Arabia purchased 804 thsd tons of wheat
The General Food Security Authority of Saudi Arabia (GFSA) purchased 804 thousand tons of milling wheat with a protein content of 12.5% on a C&F basis. This is reported by Reuters.
The volume of purchase is much more than planned – 595 thousand tons.
The proposed countries of origin of wheat are: European Union, Black Sea region, North America, South America and Australia, with sellers having the option to choose the country of origin of delivery, GFSA chief Ahmad Al-Fares said in a statement. Traders believe some wheat (one or two shipments) will come from Russia. Some shipments may come from Romania, Bulgaria, and South American countries, traders believe.
Delivery will take place from February through April 2025 to the following ports:
