Saudi Arabia purchased 500 thsd tons of wheat
The General Authority for Food Security (GFSA) of Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that it had purchased approximately 500,000 tonnes of wheat from Saudi Arabian investors abroad, Reuters reported.
GFSA announced on social media that this was its second wheat purchase from investors in 2025.
Saudi investors are purchasing from farmers and trading houses in various countries, including Australia and Brazil. The purchased wheat is expected to arrive in the country by April 2026.
The GFSA last purchased 455,000 tonnes of wheat at an international tender held on October 6.
