Russians cannot mine the Black Sea now
Russia is currently deprived of the ability to mine the Black Sea, and the Ukrainian Defense Forces are ensuring the safety of civilian shipping.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, said this during a telethon.
“Last year, there were several incidents related to mining, but no casualties. This year the situation is a little better. First of all, because the Russians are currently unable to mine the waters,” he said regarding the safety of ships passing through the grain corridor.
The spokesman said that the second danger to shipping is the use of missiles and drones by Russia, but the Ukrainian military is working on this issue.
According to Pletenchuk, despite these dangers, the grain corridor is working steadily.
“The volumes are slowly growing, and we, in turn, ensure the safety of civilian shipping,” he said.
