Russian exporters will not participate in the purchase of wheat and oil announced by Egyptian Mostakbal Misr

Russian grain exporters will not participate in the wheat and oil purchases announced by Egypt’s Mostakbal Misr Sustainable Development Agency, the Union of Grain Exporters and Producers (Rusgrain Union) has said.
“The Union of Grain Exporters and Producers officially informs that it knows nothing about the owners of the new structure or its financial condition. According to the initiative adopted and publicly announced by the Union in October 2024, no Russian grain exporter will supply goods to intermediaries acting on behalf of public procurement,” the Russian Union’s telegram channel says.
“Thus, Russian grain exporters will not participate in this tender or private negotiations with this or any other company that purchases allegedly for the needs of the state without official notification of the relevant state about the powers of such an organization.”
As a reminder, Egypt is the largest importer of Russian wheat.
