Russian Black Sea Fleet is preparing to stop ships sailing to Ukrainian ports – British Intelligence
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has changed its position after Russia withdrew from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, preparing for actions to blockade Ukraine, according to analysts at the UK Ministry of Defense’s Intelligence Directorate.
Thus, the corvette “Sergei Kotov” deployed in the southern part of the Black Sea, patrolling the shipping lane between the Bosporus and Odesa.
“There is a real possibility that it will be part of a task force to intercept commercial vessels that Russia believes are heading to Ukraine,” the experts suggest.
They note that although the Black Sea grain initiative has contained the spread of the war to the Black Sea, there is now the potential for an increase in the intensity and scale of violence in the region.
