Russia temporarily cancelled state registration of GM soybeans and meal for feed producers
The Russian government has cancelled for 2020 the state registration of genetically modified organisms (GMO) used for producing animal feeds, provided the safety of feeds from them is confirmed by Rosselkhoznadzor (the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance).
According to the document, products intended for making animal feeds (soybeans and soybean meal), including those imported to Russia, shall be exempted from the state registration until January 1, 2021 inclusive, if the safety of such feeds is confirmed by Rosselkhoznadzor, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Genetically modified organisms used for obtaining the above products and genetically modified organisms contained in such products shall also be exempted from the state registration.
