Russia strikes US-owned Bunge plant in Ukraine again

Russian forces struck the oilseed processing plant of US company Bunge in Dnipro on September 10. The facility produces sunflower oil under the Oleina brand. It was attacked for the second time since the start of Russia’s full-scale war, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov said.

The first explosions were reported in the city at around 9:08 a.m. According to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, a food-processing facility was damaged in the attack and a fire broke out. Filatov confirmed that the Bunge plant in Dnipro was hit.

At around 10:53 a.m., further explosions were reported in the city. The same facility was damaged in the second strike, with another fire breaking out on the premises. According to an official statement from a Bunge spokesperson, no company employees were injured.

“As a result of the morning attacks in Dnipro on September 10, a section of our Dnipro facility was impacted. No employees were injured. We will continue to monitor and assess the situation,” a Bunge spokesperson said.

The Bunge plant in Dnipro has previously been damaged in Russian attacks during the full-scale war. The facility is part of US-based Bunge’s production assets in Ukraine and specializes in processing oilseeds and producing edible oil.
