Russia strikes US-owned Bunge plant in Ukraine again
Russian forces struck an oilseed crushing plant owned by US-based Bunge in Dnipro on September 10. The facility, which produces sunflower oil under the Oleina brand, was attacked for the second time since the start of the full-scale war, Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov said.
The first explosions were reported in the city at around 9:08 a.m. According to the Dnipropetrovsk regional authorities, the attack damaged a food processing facility and caused a fire. Filatov later confirmed that the facility was Bunge’s plant in Dnipro.
At around 10:53 a.m., explosions were reported again. The same facility was damaged in a second strike, causing another fire at the site.
Two people were killed in the attack. As of 12:40 p.m., five people, including a child, were reported injured and were receiving medical assistance.
Bunge’s Dnipro plant had previously been damaged by Russian attacks during the full-scale war. The facility is part of the US company’s production assets in Ukraine and specializes in oilseed processing and edible oil production.
