Remaining quota for corn imports to Turkey does not exceed 400 thsd tons
By July 24, Turkish importers had selected 2.636 mln tons of the 3 mln ton corn import quota, according to European traders.
The 3 mln ton corn import quota is valid from April 20 to July 31, 2026. Corn imported within the quota is subject to a 5% duty. The duty on out-of-quota imports is 130%.
The country will begin harvesting the new corn crop in August. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, corn production in Turkey next season (September 2026 – August 2027) will decrease to 7.1 mln tons (7.9 mln tons in the current season). Turkey’s corn imports will remain at 4.8 mln tons, the same as in the current season.
