Redstone raises $29 mln to invest in port and maritime technologies

Investment company Redstone has raised €25 mln ($29 mln) in the first closing of its Redstone Blue Venture Fund. The capital will be used to finance technology startups in maritime transport, port infrastructure, clean energy, water technologies, and marine data collection and analytics.

The fund will focus primarily on Northern Europe but can invest in companies across the broader European market. It will target early-stage companies from pre-seed to Series A, with initial investments ranging from €200,000 to €2 mln per company.

One of Redstone Blue’s key areas of investment will be technologies designed to modernize ports and maritime logistics. These include the digitalization and automation of port operations, predictive maintenance systems, solutions to improve cargo handling efficiency, and cleaner technologies for the shipping industry.

The fund was launched in 2025. Its first fundraising round attracted private and institutional investors, family offices, and maritime industry participants. Its investment strategy covers four main areas: maritime transport and ports, energy, water technologies, and marine data.

The fundraising highlights growing investor interest in the so-called “blue economy.” Particular attention is being paid to technologies that can reduce port congestion and improve port capacity and supply-chain efficiency, which is also important for agricultural commodity exports.
