Rapeseed market in Poland is moving according to MATIF

From Nov. 18 to 22, MATIF rapeseed fell from maximum values. At the beginning of the week, the price was the highest in almost two years — EUR 543/mt, but by the end of the week – EUR 510.75. However, this price is higher than in the 2023 fall.
Following MATIF in Poland rapeseed prices were corrected significantly after constant growth. Rapeseed prices range from PLN 1900 to PLN 2400/mt (EUR 440-555/mt), depending on the quality and transport costs. Processors also reduced prices by PLN 20–50 (EUR 5-10/mt) w/w.
Top negative factors in rapeseed market
- forecasts of record soybean harvests in Brazil;
- favorable conditions for rapeseed harvesting in Australia;
- competition with canola, Canada supplies cheaper canola;
- fluctuations in world markets, in particular due to economic sanctions and tariff wars;
- global decline in vegetable oil prices. Palm oil, continues to decline on the Malaysian stock exchange due to a slowdown in exports.
