Rapeseed is selling poorly due to falling demand and prices
Some weakening of demand for rapeseed is observed on the physical market in Europe.
This is reported by Spike Brokers.
“Some processing plants are operating at limited capacity or are reorienting production to soybeans or sunflowers, which leads to an increase in the supply of rapeseed on the market,” analysts explain.
Physical premiums for the old crop in Europe have recently been decreasing to zero, and some batches of Ukrainian rapeseed remain unsold, which creates additional pressure on prices in Europe, experts add.
At the same time, Euronext Rapeseed Futures quotes showed moderate growth during the week. The May contract rose to €511.25 (+€2 t/t), receiving support from the energy market and stable demand from the biodiesel industry.
