Pork prices on the rise in Brazil – Cepea
Quotations for pork meat and live pigs in Brazil increased at end of October, leading the monthly average to move up for the sixth month in a row, according to a recent market report from Cepea.
Price rises are linked especially to the record pace of Brazilian exports of in natura pork meat in the partial of October and to the firm demand in the domestic market.
According to data from Secex, Brazil shipped 102.1 thousand tons of in natura pork in the partial of October (19 producing days). The daily average is at the record of 5.4 thousand tons, 4.38% more than in September/24 and 36.7% higher in relation to October last year.
