Polish customs officers refuse to seal Ukrainian transit trucks with grain
Polish customs officers refuse to put seals on trucks with Ukrainian grain that are supposed to be in transit to other countries. This was stated by the Vice President of the Association of International Road Carriers Volodymyr Balin.
“As of today (Monday, February 12), Polish customs officers are not releasing trucks with such goods (grain) that have passed customs clearance at Ukrainian customs and Polish customs and say they will not put seals on them,” he said.
Balin noted that during customs clearance, trucks in transit must be sealed to ensure that the goods are guaranteed to pass through the territory of Poland. According to him, Polish customs officers refuse to put seals because strikers at the border can break them again and damage the goods.
As reported by Ukrinform, on February 11, Polish farmers began to destroy Ukrainian trucks with grain at the Yahodyn-Dorohusk checkpoint and spilled it on the road.
On February 9, Polish farmers began blocking several checkpoints on the Polish-Ukrainian border. According to the organizers of the strike from the independent farmers’ union Solidarity, the blockade of roads near the checkpoints will last for a month, until March 10.
