Poland managed to significantly increase agricultural processing thanks to cooperation with Ukraine
The Polish agricultural sector, and especially agro-processing, is growing thanks to cooperation with Ukraine.
This was stated by Vitaliy Koval, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, in a commentary to AgroPortal.ua following a working meeting of representatives of Ukrainian and Polish agricultural associations and agricultural ministries with the participation of the ministers of agricultural policy of the two countries in Warsaw.
“In reality, they are three times bigger than us if we add agricultural production and agro-processing. And we see that in some positions, agro-processing in Poland has grown several times compared to the average annual growth of European agro-processors. The reason is cooperation with Ukraine,” he said.
In addition, Vitaliy Koval noted that the continuation of restrictions on the import of certain types of agricultural products to the EU remains a painful issue for Ukraine. During the meeting, the parties clarified their mutual positions, which are to be resolved by June 5, 2025.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
