Poland is the main buyer of Ukrainian processed soybean products
Soybean processing in Ukraine in the MY м2024/25 amounted to over 2.6 million tons.
According to the Ukoliyaprom Association, there was a record increase in the production and export of soybean oil and meal.
It is noted that soybean oil exports in the MY 2024/25 amounted to 521.3 thousand tons worth $521.7 million and increased by 52.5% in volume and 98% in value compared to the previous season. Exports of soybean meal amounted to 1.34 million tons worth $461.1 million and increased by over 95% and 54.4%, respectively.
“This indicates the demand for soybean oil and meal in many countries of the world, including the EU, and the unique opportunities for increasing domestic processing of raw materials and increasing production and exports of products with high added value,” the association noted.
According to the association, EU countries purchased 443 thousand tons of soybean oil last season. The top 3 European countries that purchased this product were Poland (345.3 thousand tons), Germany (22 thousand tons) and Bulgaria (17.9 thousand tons).
Other countries of the world purchased 78.3 thousand tons of Ukrainian soybean oil, of which 36.7 thousand tons were shipped to India.
At the same time, exports of soybean meal in the MY 2024/25 to EU countries amounted to 1.1 million tons. The largest buyers were Poland (475 thousand tons), Hungary (256.2 thousand tons) and Romania (107 thousand tons).
