Planting of new soybean crop is 96% complete in Argentina
The soybean planting for the 2022/23 crop in Argentina reaches 96% of the expected area, estimated at 16.258 mln hectares. According to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, work was 94% complete the week earlier. At the same time last year, 97% were planted.
The area for 2022/23 is projected at 16.457 mln hectares, compared to 16.094 mln hectares in the previous season.
The weather forecasts point to good rainfall in most producing provinces in the period between January 27 and February 2, with highlight on the expected moisture for the Core Zone.
In the period between February 3 and 9, moisture will be lower in most provinces, with some micro-regions receiving little or no moisture.
