Planting of new soybean crop is 54% complete in Argentina

A weekly survey released on Friday by the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, through the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, indicated that the planting of soybeans for the 2024/25 crop reached 54% of the total planned area of 17.914 mln hectares.
According to the Ministry, the previous week, sowing was at 47%. In the same period last year, planting reached 55% of the 16.564 mln hectares cultivated in the 2023/24 season.
Between December 8 and 14, climate maps indicate a good concentration of moisture in the Argentine core, with the highest volumes of precipitation in the Southeast, especially in the Buenos Aires region. In the main producing provinces, rainfall should be more distributed, without excess, providing favorable conditions for crop development.
Between December 15 and 21, precipitation levels in these regions are expected to remain low, with scarcer and more irregular rainfall.
