Paraguay increases beef exports to the US amid strong demand
Paraguay is increasing beef shipments to the US amid strong demand in the American market. President Santiago Peña said current US price levels are encouraging further growth in purchases.
According to Peña, the US market is demanding more imported beef, while Paraguay aims to use this opportunity to strengthen its position as a supplier.
Paraguay does not currently have a country-specific beef export quota for the US. Peña did not provide specific figures for the recent increase in shipments.
Expanding exports to the US gives Paraguayan producers an opportunity to increase their presence in one of the world’s largest beef markets and diversify their sales destinations.
Further growth in shipments will depend on demand and price levels in the US market, which currently remain supportive of higher imports.
