Pakistan’s rice exports to China increased 63% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2025, reaching $45.27 million compared with $27.85 million during the same period last year, according to data from China’s General Administration of Customs.

During the quarter, Pakistan shipped 76.36 million kilograms of semi- or wholly-milled rice (commodity code 10063020) worth $34.30 million at an average price of $0.44 per kilogram.

In the same quarter of 2024, exports under this category were valued at just over $6 million, with a volume of 7.42 million kilograms.

The data shows a sharp rise in both quantity and export value, reflecting growing Chinese demand for Pakistani rice varieties.

Rice exporters said that the trend demonstrates Pakistan’s strengthening position in China’s grain market and increasing acceptance of its rice for quality and competitiveness.
