One of Southern Russia’s largest grain traders nationalized

новороссийск

Russia continues to tighten state control over its grain sector. Krasnodarzernoprodukt, one of the largest grain traders in Krasnodar Krai, has officially been transferred to the management of the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) following a court ruling that ordered the seizure of its assets in favor of the state.

The transfer is part of a broader campaign targeting assets linked to former regional officials and business figures. A Russian court upheld a lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office, resulting in dozens of companies being placed under state ownership.

Krasnodarzernoprodukt is considered one of the leading grain traders in southern Russia and plays an important role in grain export logistics through Black Sea ports. Alongside the trader, several other agricultural assets in the region were also brought under state control.

The move continues a broader trend of increasing state involvement in Russia’s agricultural sector. Earlier, authorities nationalized the Rusagro agricultural holding, one of the country’s largest food producers. Such actions highlight the growing role of the state in strategic segments of Russia’s agro-industrial complex, including grain trading and export infrastructure.
