One of the voices of Polish farmers’ protests called Ukraine a “huge competitor” in the German and French markets
Ukrainian agricultural products are increasingly pushing Polish producers out of the markets of Western Europe, in particular Germany and France. This was stated by Damian Murawiec, a representative of the Polish organization “National Protest of Farmers”.
According to him, Ukraine largely focuses its agricultural exports on the European Union market.
“It is clear that they are strongly focused on the EU market, since our European Union market last year, as they reported in their data, accounted for almost 50% of their exports,” he said.
Murawiec stressed that the Polish and Ukrainian agricultural sectors are “huge competitors”. In particular, he believes that Ukrainian farmers are pushing Polish farmers out of the markets of Western Europe.
“It is enough that they are pushing us out of the German and French markets, and in general from Western Europe, where we export most of our goods. “Yes, this is meat, livestock, tobacco, processed products, grain and grain products, fish. If we take it here, then, in fact, in these assortments we are simply competitors to each other, and here, of course, it will be very difficult to reconcile the expectations of both sides,” he added.
For almost 30 years of expertise in the agri markets, UkrAgroConsult has accumulated an extensive database, which became the basis of the platform AgriSupp.
It is a multi-functional online platform with market intelligence for grains and oilseeds that enables to get access to daily operational information on the Black Sea & Danube markets, analytical reports, historical data.
