October export volumes of Ukrainian rapeseed are four times lower than last year
In October, rapeseed exports from Ukraine will not exceed 135–140 thousand tons compared to 535 thousand tons last year. As of October 28, 125 thousand tons have been exported. This was reported by the analytical department of the agricultural cooperative PUSK, created within the VAR.
“Exports are moving very slowly — everything rests on tariffs. They are the ones that have actually stopped the normal work of exporters,” PUSK emphasizes. The volumes of domestic processing are growing. “In September, we processed over 100 thousand tons, and in October the figure will be no less.
Against the background of problems with sunflower, it is rapeseed that is currently supporting the sector. Prices for rapeseed in ports are announced in the range of €540–545/t. At the same time, processors offer from UAH 25 thousand/t and above,” analysts note. The European market is showing positive price dynamics.
“Over the past week, rapeseed exchange quotes have increased by €10. January–February is traditionally expected to be the period of the highest prices for this oilseed crop,” the PUSK adds.
