More and more foreign ships are entering the Ukrainian ports
In the first quarter of 2025, 659 ship calls were made to three ports of the Odessa region. This was reported by the head of the monitoring group of the Institute of Black Sea Strategic Studies Andriy Klymenko.
According to him, the number of foreign vessels operating in the ports of Greater Odessa in January-March steadily increased.
“During this period, the Russian armed forces carried out at least 35 attacks with missiles and UAVs of various types on the ports of Greater Odessa, energy and industrial infrastructure of the Odessa region in the area of the ports (i.e., on average once every three days),” Andriy Klymenko noted.
In particular, the number of strike UAVs involved in attacks on ports is not accurately recorded according to open sources, but it is estimated that it can range from five to 20 or more drones during one attack, that is, from 150 to 200 since the beginning of the year.
Despite the attacks, 659 ship calls were made to the three ports of the Odessa region involved in the work of the Ukrainian Sea Corridor in January-March (in January — 204, in February — 213, in March — 242).
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv.
