Major soybean oil exporters have reduced shipments by 13% since the start of the season
According to Oil World (Germany), soybean oil exports from five key supplier countries totaled 947,000 tonnes in April, below the April 2025 figure of 972,000 tonnes. The decline was due to lower shipments from the United States and Argentina, while exports from Brazil have exceeded forecasts in recent months.
For the first seven months of the season (October–April), total soybean oil exports from the five main supplier countries totaled 5.55 million tonnes, down 13% from the same period last season.
India was the key market, importing 545,000 tonnes in April (compared to 498,000 tonnes in April 2025). Over the first seven months, 2.76 million tonnes of soybean oil were imported to the country, down 10% from the same period last year.
Argentina shipped 3.61 million tonnes (4.12 million tonnes), Brazil 0.92 million tonnes (0.81 million tonnes), the United States 0.39 thousand tonnes (0.86 million tonnes), Paraguay 0.33 million tonnes (0.23 million tonnes), and Ukraine 0.3 million tonnes (0.33 million tonnes).
Year-on-year growth was recorded in shipments to North African countries, the European Union, and individual countries in Central and South America. Argentina shipped oil to Canada, where the product was likely used as feedstock for biodiesel production.
