Maersk intends to concession a container terminal in the port of Chornomorsk
One of the world’s largest container shipping operators, A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, has expressed interest in concessioning a container terminal in the port of Chornomorsk. This was reported by the State Enterprise “Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority”.
The issue was raised during a working visit of representatives of A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S to the seaport of Chornomorsk.
During the meeting, the foreign colleagues discussed with the port workers the prospects for expanding the company’s activities in the Ukrainian market. First of all, they discussed the possibility of involving the Danish shipping company in the modernization of Ukraine’s port infrastructure, in particular, participation in the concession of the container terminal of the Chornomorsk commercial seaport.
Representatives of A.P. Moller-Maersk confirmed their significant interest in the concession of the container terminal, which, in their opinion, will ensure not only its sustainable development and modernization in accordance with the most modern international standards, but will also contribute to a significant expansion of the region’s trade and logistics infrastructure with the creation of new jobs, as well as opportunities for storing food and grain.
