Maaden plans to resume phosphate exports through Yanbu port in the Red Sea
Saudi Arabia’s Maaden plans to resume phosphate exports through the western Red Sea port of Yanbu, with shipments expected to increase in April.
Previously, the main exports were made through the port of Ras al-Khair in the Persian Gulf, but the routes pass through the Strait of Hormuz, which has been blocked by Iran since the escalation on February 28. In the second week of March, the company sold 15,000 tons of MAP to South America; shipments are likely to be made from Yanbu.
To do this, Maaden transports products from Ras al-Khair to Yanbu by road, which limits exports through this route.
