LDC more than doubles canola crushing capacity in Canada
Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) has officially opened its expanded canola processing complex in Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Following the investment, the facility’s crushing capacity has more than doubled to over 2 mln tons of canola per year.
The plant, which has been operating since 2009, produces food-grade canola oil and canola meal for the food, feed and renewable energy sectors. According to the company, the expansion will improve feedstock sourcing and enhance overall operational efficiency.
The project also included the construction of new pea protein production facilities, supporting the growing global demand for plant-based protein ingredients.
