Kernel to commission oilseed crushing plant in early 2024
In early 2024, Kernel expects to launch the Starokostiantyniv oilseed crushing plant in Khmelnytsky region, the company’s CEO Ievgen Osypov announced at the Grain Ukraine Conference.
“In Khmelnytsky region, we are completing the construction of our largest crushing plant. We intend to launch it at the beginning of the next calendar year. The plant’s processing capacity is one million tonnes of sunflowerseed per year,” he said.
The construction started in April 2019.
While the company is confident that Ukraine will remain a leader in sunflower production, grain production is likely to decline as export opportunities are currently rather limited.
“That is why our task is to increase domestic processing of value-added products, ensure the most efficient logistics for our partners to export their products and build our future with faith in Ukraine,” he added.
Kernel invested USD 130 mln in the plant construction.
