Kazakhstan’s linseed exports will reach a record high of 1 mln tons
In the current agricultural year (September 2025 – August 2026), Kazakhstan will be able to export approximately 1 million tons of linseed, a historic high for the country.
Over the first five months of this season, exports have already increased by more than 136%, with shipments totaling 600,000 tons. This was driven by both record domestic production (over 1 million tons) and an expanded presence in the European market following restrictions on products from Russia.
Shipments to China and Belgium have more than doubled, with strong demand reported for Poland and Afghanistan.
However, global overproduction is acting as a negative factor.
Analysts do not forecast a reduction in linseed-growing acreage, despite price declines in the second half of the year. As a result, exports and domestic production in the new season will be near their second-highest historical levels.
