Kazakhstan to purchase drones for locust control
Kazakhstan to effectively combat the locust invasion intends to purchase special drones. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin, reports a correspondent of Kazinform agency.
– I hope that next year the halo of locust distribution will be reduced for us. It will be not 2.5 million hectares, but less. We are making efforts for this, – said Serik Zhumangarin, answering a question on the sidelines of the Senate.
At the same time, Deputy Prime Minister touched upon the issue of effective fight against these pests.
– It is difficult enough to fight with artisanal methods, because people do the analysis. We will buy equipment this year, that is, next year’s budget will include (author’s note) about 100 drones, which will have special software to detect locusts in the ground. And then we can work on it point by point. I saw an experimental drone being demonstrated in Aktobe region. It is very effective! – concluded Serik Zhumangarnin
